Book marketing duties kept me sidelined for a bit, but happy I am to announce that Time Warped won the 2011 P&E’s Readers Poll for Best Young Adult Book, Danielle “Topanga” Fishel actually praised it in writing, and if that weren’t enough, the underdog Giants just won the Superbowl!!!… again… against the Patriots!!!

Only a really juicy paranormal story would make me come down from such a celebratory high. But, I simply could not resist the Chinese “Cat-boy” with night vision eyes!

Yes, that’s right. Nong You-hui can see in the dark with luminous blue eyes any matinee idol would kill for. When he was two months old, his parents worried the pigment anomaly would hamper his vision, but doctors assured him the color would change to a more normal hue, given time.

It didn’t.

“Nong You-hui can see in the dark with luminous blue eyes any matinee idol would kill for.”

But that was just fine. Little Nong stood out from the crowd, but otherwise was as normal and happy as a little boy can be. After a time, his family forgot about their son’s unusual headlights and life resumed quite normally, for a while.

Then one day, a teacher noticed the boy squinting in the sun and complaining of clouded vision. They shined a flashlight into his eyes and saw a blue/green light flashing back at them, very much like a cat. Unbeknownst to everyone, Nong could see in the dark!

He was tested with playing cards and a questionnaire given to him in a light devoid room. Little Nong answered every question easily and accurately saw each playing card held up to his gaze.

Not sure how or why Nong was given this unusual ability. Some claim he’s a mutant, a star child, and part ET.

Like many, I just think the kid’s talent is over-the-top kewl and his eyes are a stunner to behold in both daylight and darkness.

Here’s the link to the youtube video if anyone would like to see little Nong and his cat eyes for themselves:
LINK

And that ends today’s tale.
