It’s 2022 and I feel the need to exhale and wipe the sweat off my forehead. We all just made it past a VERY intense 2021. I know I’m not the only one to feel the sweet sense of relief sweeping over like Bert and his rooftop chimney dancers.
Astrologically speaking—which I do speak often, Saturn square Uranus was no laughing matter in 2021. Can’t tell you how many lives I personally know of that were shaken, rattled and rolled like Bill Haley and his Comets! We even got a wonderfully entertaining, satirical movie about a comet headed for earth called “Don’t Look Up.” And how apropos was that? Reality in the eyes of the beholder, most ignoring the comet hurtling toward us.
Similarly, since COVID first entered our orbit, we’ve felt the dramatic effects of life changing on earth and we’ve tried our best to sweep our collective sadness under the carpet. We’ve taken a hit from the pandemic, losing loved ones, losing jobs, losing our emotional sense of security (Uranus in Taurus), no longer being free to move about the cabin. And then for a brief time this past year, Mid-May till July, 2021, Jupiter, the planet of hope, freedom and happiness, dipped its big toes into the ocean of Pisces, and, for a brief, glowing time, COVID restrictions were lifted and optimism returned. We nervously stepped out, albeit a bit grungy. Fashion became comfy loungewear, the beards were left bushy and women owned their greys. But we ventured out of our caves and life began to stir as the sun’s rays nourished our now socially awkward selves. It was nice while it lasted…
Then Jupiter went back into Aquarius, once again cohabitating with the Scrooge of the planets, Saturn, and we went back into our shells, experiencing increasing shell shocks as Saturn and Uranus completed their final square dance right before Xmas. So much climate and polarizing politics, so many flights canceled, so many families torn asunder this past year, and so many celebrity deaths in the news—including our beloved Betty White to close out 2021!!!
As we celebrate Betty’s “Golden” years, we once again feel the benefic rays of optimism shining their light on the world. Jupiter has returned to Pisces till May 12th—hooray!!!… and again at the end of Oct to nearly finish out the year. Any comets in the background will be deflected by good cheer, good tidings and great fashion! On April 12th of this year, Jupiter will be in a partile conjunction with Neptune in Pisces and I can’t wait to see what variety of artistic joys and pleasures the imagination will bring to our red carpet runway. In general, our world will be expanding and creating like nobody’s business and what we envision will be our new norm. So… any fantasy authors like myself, or poets, unlike myself, take note to self: Pay attention to the downloads, to your dreams because Paul’s “Yesterday” can become John’s “Imagine” for anyone who dares to float downstream in those waters. It is not dying, it is creating!
This past year it was prudent to heed the direction, “Don’t look Up.” But this year, I advise all to watch Leo’s new flick, and then look up because things, on a mundane level, at least, are looking up and Jupiter is fueling us with the faith we need to step boldly into the future.
